It all ends the same in the main quest because it was your destiny to meet Alduin and slay him. The Civil War, the Daedric quests, the Dark Brotherhood. And I think you can make a few different decisions.
Role-playing is a very, very big term, which contains a lot of definitions. And I cannot recall all of them, but I think there were more not-main-questline quests with different endings. There is also an alternate Dawnguard questline. After you save Martin from Kvatch there's not a serious sense of urgency, you could say to Jauffre that you didn't want to join the Blades yet and just do what you want.
I'm not sure what my point is lol, I just felt very home in Cyrodiil. Old Hroldan and the Nightgate, Play Oblivion and just see how many there are. Don't quote me on this by I think there were on two taverns in Skyrim that weren't connected to a village, town or city. I could wander around Cyrodiil aimlessly and just find a random inn that has a small garrison of Imperial Horsemen just stopping for a drink before they do their rounds. Everything in Cyrodiil reminds me of England, even to the name of inns that are close to English tradition like The Fox and Hound or the way Imperials pronounce things the British way. I don't know if it's because of the countryside is very similar to Englands (Where I live and born) or that I didn't just escape prison because of a big dragon. There is the alternate DB questline and I guesse the Hircine quest.)įor me I could role play Oblivion much better than I could Skyrim or Morrowind. (Also, if any of you were wondering the "one or two" questlines that actually have role playing value are. If anyone can think of a reason for the lack of role playing in Skyrim please share. It was only after hearing other people complain did I realize this. When I role played I just avoided the quest that didn't suit my character. The first dozen times I played through skyrim I didn't notice this. You could be a Khajiit swindler or an Orcish knight the questline will end the same. Aside from one, or two, quests Skyrim doesn't have much in terms of role playing after you finish making your character.
Fable is an RPG and if has much, much less character customization than Skyrim. Make a character build and play the game how your character would do it." But character customization isn't the only thing that makes an RPG an RPG. Another someone replied with "Yeah there is. Most recently I was reading the comments of a Youtube video where someone pointed out that there is no role playing "feature" in Skyrim. So this has been coming up a lot: Why is there no role playing in Skyrim?
